triangle.

i have met a lot of people.
i have have a lot of acquaintances.
i have few friends.

i've always kind of been that way.  i love meeting people – a people person i am not. friendships are picked very carefully.  downside to that – i pick a few and seem to strangle them until theres no ship left to friend with.  there are a few die-hards (love ya!) that have stood by for years!  its taken thirty-two years... but i'm learning more about myself and more about other people and figuring out how important having people in your life is.  i've tried to do a lot of things alone, and well, without people that you care about in your life, its lonely.  i have a huge heart so lonely doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

today, my friend christy shared her lunch hour with me while we ate at the way of the sub.  yummy.  we only work a few minutes apart and neither of us are great about taking a lunch away from our desks, so its nice every now and again when we rip away from what we're doing and breathe outside air for a few minutes.   i've known christy since we were in high school.  we played the triangle together in marching band.  chuckle if you will... but damn we played a mean triangle!  our lives have taken totally different paths over the last 15 years, we've lost touch here and there, but its always great to catch up with an friend.

across the country my friends are scattered from the left to the right.  those friends i dont have the pleasure of having lunch with, so there needs to be more of an effort made to enjoying the company of my friends that are near.  so, of you i ask this - call a friend of choice and make plans to share some time.

day one

looks like i'm jumping on the bloggy bandwagon.  i've got a lil to say, and hell, why not say it here.   can't guarantee it's going to be interesting and uplifting all the time, but its not going to be a whoa-is me either.  we'll see how long i stick with it.  comment back - good and bad.

today i dont have much more to say other than we've lost too many people in 2008, this weekend's most recent being scott kalitta and george carlin.  crazy.  im sure both names will resurface in a few days when i get used to this blog thing-er-ma-jiggy.

until then, be great, and create.
